Easy-to-Follow Steps to Wall Mount Installation

6:26 pm LCD Mounts / Brackets, Plasma Mounts / Brackets

When you purchase an LCD TV or Plasma TV, the time will come when you will need to have the television mounted.  You can hire someone to do this, but that will cost you money and it is really not necessary.  In fact, you have the skills to mount the television on your own.  Simply follow the easy steps so you can enjoy your television without paying extra money. (If you are in any way unsure of your ability to install on your own, you should get a professional in to do the job)

Before you begin, you need to decide where you want to hang your television set.  You cannot simply hang your LCD TV  or plasma TV wherever you want.  You need to find wall studs so your TV will be supported – an external wall is the strongest.  If you fail to do this, you could end up with damage to your walls.  Once you find the studs, make sure that they are in a place that you will like to hang your TV on.  If they are not, continue looking for studs in order to find the proper place to mount your TV.

You will then need to place the bracket on the wall.  It is important that you make sure that the bracket is level before you screw it in.  Use a spirit level in order to make sure that you are precise.  If you fail to get the bracket even, your TV will not hang correctly.  After you are certain that you have it in the right position, screw in the bracket so it is attached to the wall.

You will then take the other half of the wall bracket that is not attached to the wall and attach it to your television.  You will be able to do this by attaching it to the mounting holes that are on the back of your TV.   If you cannot initially find those holes, look to see if they are covered up.  If they are covered up, you can easily remove the covering with a screwdriver or a knife so you can then proceed with the mounting. Most LCD TV and Plasma TV fixings are VESA standard but check before buying and fitting your tv wall mount – no company will take back the mount once you have tried fitting it.

You will then screw the two brackets together, which will in turn mount your television to the wall.  Once your television is mounted, stand back and make sure that it is level.  Then, you need to check that it is sturdy.  If it is supposed to swivel, make sure that it can move.  If it cannot, you need to make the proper adjustments so the mount will work properly.

This is a simple process.  If you do it with a partner, you will not have any trouble mounting your own television set.  You will be able to save money on the process, and have the satisfaction of knowing that you did it yourself.  Do not allow yourself to be scared of mounting your television.  Follow the steps and you will have your TV mounted in no time at all.
